ABOUT ME

I have worked as a textiles teacher for many years in secondary education. My recent move to Somerset has allowed me to further develop my creative journey. The diploma in Patchwork and Quilting gave me an exciting opportunity to extend, experiment and develop my skills in textiles. My final work, inspired by the ‘Swinging Sixties’ was exhibited at the Festival of Quilts (2015) in the City and Guilds student gallery. I enjoy the support and encouragement from like-minded people and I am a member of 'Threaded Together', CQ West and local textile groups.

Recently I have been inspired by the ‘Slow Stitch’ movement and I enjoy creating textile pieces with a needle, natural cloth and thread. The colours and textures of natural fibres and fabrics inspire me and enable me to enjoy the creative process.
